About the Artist

Kim Marie Smith, originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, currently lives in San Jose.

From an early age, Kim showed a natural inclination for drawing. While at community college in Southern California, she pursued her interest in the arts through courses in photography, drawing, and painting, and she continues to be an enthusiastic photographer.

Kim's career in local government strangely led to an exploration of digital art.  While  training colleagues on iPad usage for business applications, she began to explore art-centric apps as well, particularly Procreate. Today, she shares her digital expertise by teaching iPhone skills and iPad art techniques.  

Once retired from public service, she had free time to explore traditional media, and that re-ignited a passion for painting. Her creative expression spans traditional media such as acrylics and watercolors, as well as digital drawing and painting.  

Kim is a member of both the Campbell Artist’s Guild and the Los Gatos Art Association.
